The Garden of Gethsemane overlooks the lake with a beautiful view for visitors to enjoy, this truly is one of our most popular gardens, and rightfully so given its namesake. For Jesus Christ in the Book of Matthew visited the place called Gethsemane:
"Then cometh Jesus with them unto a place called Gethsemane, and said unto the disciples, Sit ye here, while I go and pray yonder. And he took with him Peter and the two sons of Zebedee, and began to be sorrowful and very heavy. Then saith he unto them My soul is exceeding sorrowful, even unto death: tarry ye here, and watch with me." - Matthew 26:36-38 KJV
Here was an instance where Jesus shared the human condition. He experienced the sadness and anguish, the feelings and emotions that plague us all. This was a place that he showed his incredible love and compassion for us that allowed him to make the ultimate sacrifice that saved us all. This place called Gethsemane was incredibly important, and we hope to honor that legacy with our Garden of Gethsemane.
